Yasmin Nicholas is a British contemporary artist specialising in mixed media including painting, photography and poetry. Born in 1994, the London based artist is a third generation Caribbean (Dominican and St Lucian descent), citing her grandparents, originating from Dominica as a major influence on her work, strongly embracing her heritage and culture.

Graduating with a BA in Fine Art at Middlesex University, Hendon in 2015, Nicholas had her first solo exhibition entitled 'Finding Home' at Elizabeth James Gallery in London, UK. She has also had group shows at Beaconsfield in Vauxhall, London and at Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London where she presented her short films, ‘Bwapen’ and ‘Metaphors’. Nicholas has also exhibited works at Winns Gallery, Walthamstow, London, UK; Art Number 23, London, UK and the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission in London, UK.

Nicholas’ work draws attention to modern experiences in everyday life, notably diaspora related issues, ageism and identity, ethnicity and Afro-Caribbean culture.
